Turtlehead Permaculture is rooted in our relationship to the land. We live within suburban and ex-burban sites, recognizing their history while restoring habitat towards living in better ecological relationship with these places we call home. They are sanctuary, not just to people, but to the many other species we share the land with. As we go, we experiment, listen and learn towards building skills and helping others along their own journeys, weaving webs of resilience.
Living on Turtle Island in this time, inside the borders of the "United States" we must rise to the moment of where we now stand. Be that climate or political instability (to name just two.)
Permaculture offers one possible toolbox towards a different way forward.
We oppose fascism. We add our words and our work alongside other marginalized peoples.
A Statement of Response from the USA Permaculture Community to the Emerging Political Crisis
"When a system is far from equilibrium, small islands of coherence in a sea of chaos have the capacity to elevate the entire system to a higher order.”
We help develop "small islands," helping folks find their own skills, experiences, and voice.
